MAMARONECK - The case of two guidance counselors absent from the middle school continues to puzzle parents weeks after they were told the two women had been 'administratively reassigned.'.
Earlier this month, Superintendent Paul Fried sent parents a letter stating that "due to unforeseen circumstances," Elizabeth Denhoff and Haruko Hirose, guidance counselors at Hommocks Middle School, "are not in school at this time." Another letter followed assuring parents that while there was "no reason to believe the health and safety of any child has been put at risk," Denhoff and Hirose have been "administratively reassigned" while still employed by the district. ...
