STORY:

Westchester County law enforcement officials have arrested a Rye Brook man on charges that he possessed almost 1,600, one-thousand-milliliter bottles of Ketamine, also known as Special K, jet, super acid or cat Valium. That had an estimated street value of over $150,000.

Michael Avallone, 27, was charged with two counts of possession of a controlled substance in the fourth degree, felonies, and one count of criminal possession of a weapon in the third degree, also a felony.

Westchester District Attorney Janet DiFiore said that on November 1, after a month-long investigation involving police surveillance, Harrison Police arrested Avallone at 450 Mamaroneck Avenue in Harrison. He had 65 Ketamine bottles of 1,000 ml each.

Later that day, investigators from the Westchester DA’s Narcotics Initiative task force and police from Rye Brook, Harrison and Mamaroneck town, executed a search warrant for Avallone’s home in Rye Brook.

They seized 1,500 bottles of Special K, two loaded .9 mm semi-automatic handguns, a loaded .22 Derringer handgun, ammunition for a .357 magnum handgun and a large quantity of steroids..........

A 27-year-old Rye Brook man was arraigned on felony drug and weapon charges yesterday after a monthlong investigation by local and federal authorities.

Michael Avallone of 33 Roanoke Ave. was arrested about 4 p.m. Thursday by Harrison police at 450 Mamaroneck Ave. in Harrison. He was accused of having 65 1-liter bottles of Ketamine, Westchester County District Attorney Janet DiFiore said.

Later that day, investigators from the Westchester District Attorney's Narcotics Initiative task force, along with Rye Brook, Harrison and Mamaroneck town police, executed a search warrant at Avallone's home....

The Westchester County District Attorney's office announced that Michael Avallone, 27, of Rye Brook, New York, was arraigned on two counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance and one count of Criminal Possession of a Weapon.

On November 1, 2007 at approximately 4:00 p.m., after a month long investigation involving police surveillance, Harrison Police arrested the defendant at 450 Mamaroneck Avenue in the Town of Harrison. Avallone was in possession of sixty five 1000 ml bottles of Ketamine.

Later the same day, investigators from the Westchester District Attorney Narcotics Initiative task force (W-DANI), along with police from the Rye Brook, Harrison and Mamaroneck Town Police Departments, executed a search warrant for the defendant’s home in the Town of Rye Brook.

Agents from the Federal Drug Enforcement Administration and the White Plains Police Department also assisted in the investigation.

The street value of the seized Ketamine is estimated to be over $150,000, making this the largest seizure of Ketamine by W-DANI and the largest Ketamine drug case prosecuted by the Westchester County District Attorney's Office.

During the raid, police seized an additional 1,498 1000 ml bottles of Ketamine, two loaded .9 mm semi-automatic handguns, a loaded .22 Derringer handgun, ammunition for a .357 magnum handgun and a large quantity of steroids........
